Mobile County Crime Scene Described as “Disturbing” After Triple Murder in Rural Alabama Home
Three people, including a pregnant 17-year-old, were found murdered in a Wilmer, Alabama home in a Mobile County triple homicide investigation ongoing
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deeply disturbing triple homicide in Wilmer after three people were found dead inside a rural home on Monday morning, an incident that authorities say has left investigators searching urgently for answers and a motive.
The case unfolded in the 7900 block of Auble Moody Road after a family member arrived at the residence and discovered the scene, immediately contacting law enforcement. Deputies responded and confirmed that multiple individuals inside the home were deceased, prompting a large-scale investigation led by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.
During a press briefing, Sheriff Paul Burch identified the victims as 46-year-old Lisa Ferguson, her 17-year-old daughter Keziah Luker, and 12-year-old Thomas Cordell. Authorities also confirmed a particularly tragic detail: Luker was pregnant at the time of her death, a fact that has intensified the emotional impact of the case within the local community.
Investigators said all three victims lived at the residence where they were found, and preliminary findings suggest the killings likely occurred overnight before the discovery was made. A young child, approximately 18 months old, was also inside the home during the incident but was not physically harmed.
According to officials, each victim was found with their hands bound behind their backs using what appeared to be zip ties or similar restraints. Sheriff Burch described the scene as extremely violent and unsettling, noting that the circumstances pointed to a deliberate and controlled act rather than a spontaneous confrontation.
Authorities reported that the victims suffered different fatal injuries: Lisa Ferguson had been stabbed and suffered a throat injury, Keziah Luker was shot, and Thomas Cordell also died from a throat wound. The variation in injuries has added complexity to the investigation as detectives work to determine the sequence of events.
Investigators also noted that the interior of the home appeared to have been ransacked. Sheriff Burch stated that evidence at the scene suggested someone may have been searching for something, though officials have not yet confirmed what, if anything, may have been taken or targeted during the incident.
As of now, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made. Authorities say there is currently no indication that the killings stemmed from a domestic or family dispute, leaving investigators to explore multiple possible motives as they continue processing evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, with law enforcement urging anyone with information to come forward. In Wilmer and across Mobile County, the community is left grappling with shock and grief as detectives work to piece together what led to a crime described by officials as one of the most violent and heartbreaking scenes they have encountered in recent memory, while families await answers and justice in the days ahead.
