SUPPORT THE FAMILY - GOD BLESS YOU

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office conveyed deep sadness over the loss of their teammate, highlighting Dunaway’s dedication not just as a law enforcement officer but as a friend, colleague, and devoted father. “To many of us, Joshua was more than just a coworker; he was a friend, a teammate, and a caring father who was deeply committed to his family,” the office stated.

Although he was off-duty at the moment of the accident, riding his own motorcycle, Deputy Dunaway’s passing underscores the unpredictable aspects of life and the potential dangers that can emerge during everyday occurrences. Other officers described him as a committed and approachable individual, always ready to assist his peers and the community he represented.

Efforts to investigate the accident are ongoing, with officials examining witness accounts, traffic patterns, and additional evidence to gain a comprehensive understanding of the events leading up to the crash. The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office has requested that the community remember Dunaway’s family, friends, and fellow deputies in their thoughts during this challenging period.

Funeral plans for Deputy Dunaway are still in development, but information will be released to the public to allow the community to pay tribute to an officer who served with integrity, commitment, and compassion.
