Emmary Sweeney, a recent high school graduate, is a strong young woman whose determination and perseverance have inspired everyone around her. Renowned for her athleticism and agility, Emmary faced an unimaginable challenge in December following a potentially deadly cardiac episode that required three open heart surgeries.
Despite being in the intensive care unit for several months and going through therapy, Emmary has demonstrated incredible perseverance. Now confined to a wheelchair, she is working long hours in intensive rehabilitation to restore her strength and independence. She still has a long way to go, but she is incredibly determined and full of enthusiasm.
