The Cullman community is mourning the loss of James Timothy Scott, known to many as Tim Scott, who passed away on February 20, 2026, at Cullman Regional at the age of 60. Born July 17, 1965, to Johnny Lloyd “Tooter” Scott and Carolyn Scott, Tim lived a life defined by service, dedication, and a deep-rooted love for Cullman County. His passing leaves behind not only a grieving family but a community shaped by his decades of commitment.
For 38 years, Tim faithfully served as a member of the Cullman Lions Club, giving his time and energy to support local initiatives and charitable causes. His dedication extended to more than 25 years with the Cullman County Fair Board, where he played an integral role in preserving and strengthening one of the county’s most cherished traditions. Whether organizing events or working behind the scenes, Tim’s steady presence was a constant source of leadership and reliability.
Agriculture was not just work for Tim — it was his passion. He felt most at home in the chicken houses and on the land he cared for so deeply. Through his involvement with RC&D and the Cullman County Soil and Water Conservation District, he supported local farmers and championed conservation efforts that benefited generations. His contributions helped shape major community projects, including Duck River Reservoir, ensuring a lasting impact on Cullman County’s future.
While his civic and agricultural contributions were significant, those closest to him say his most treasured role was being an “Auburn Dad.” Supporting his children in their pursuits brought him immense pride and joy. His family was the center of his world, and he carried that love into every responsibility he embraced.
Tim is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jessica Scott, and their children Arleigh Grace, Zane, and Kadie. To them, he was not just a community leader, but a devoted husband and father whose guidance, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Cullman City Cemetery. As friends, colleagues, and neighbors gather to honor his life, they will remember a man whose legacy is woven into the fabric of Cullman County — a life grounded in service, hard work, and enduring love for both his family and his community.
