 The Clinton High School community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Julius Robinson, a cherished senior and exceptional athlete, who died on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the age of 18. Julius was discovered dead, with the circumstances pointing towards suicide.

A committed and enthusiastic student-athlete, Julius participated in both the Clinton Varsity Football and Basketball teams. He donned the number 20 as an outside linebacker in football and wore 23 on the basketball court. As a member of the Class of 2026, he was recognized by peers and teammates for his tenacity, skill, and uplifting attitude.

The tragic event has left his family, friends, classmates, and teammates devastated. Empris Murphy, a close relative, conveyed a touching tribute:

“It feels unreal, or maybe I’m just numb. On December 17, 2025, Julius Nasir Robinson became our GUARDIAN ANGEL at 5:10 pm. I won’t harbor anger but I will surely miss you, son. I’ll take care of your siblings, you have my promise. To his football family, Ma Dukes will always stand by you. To his classmates, let’s stay #J20Strong!!! To friends and family, I understand this path will be tough, but we will remain #J20Strong. His life deserves celebration. The family welcomes everyone starting this afternoon at our residence located at 83 Kent Circle, Clinton, NC 28328. Thank you for your endless love, support, and prayers!”
