Law enforcement agencies in Austin are looking into a shooting that occurred on Monday afternoon close to Conans Pizza South and the Cherry Creek Apartments in the southern part of the city. The Austin Police Department (APD) reports that one individual was shot outside the apartment complex after a dispute between two teenagers, who are thought to be students attending Crockett High School.
The incident took place near West Stassney Lane and South Congress Avenue, leading to a significant police presence as officers arrived at the location. The wounded person was promptly taken to a nearby hospital, although their medical status has not been made public.
APD personnel cordoned off the site and conducted interviews with witnesses as they continue their investigation. As of Monday night, no arrests have been made, and officials have not disclosed the names of those involved or shared information regarding the events that led to the altercation.
