Kerrian Malcolm, 29, a missing Westmoreland woman, was found dead in a suitcase close to Gully Banks in Savanna-la-Mar.
The Gully Banks area of Savanna-la-Mar was shocked and devastated when the body of 29-year-old Kerrian Malcolm, who had been missing since Thursday, October 2, was discovered packed inside a bag.
Malcolm, who resided on Barracks Road in Savanna-la-Mar, was last seen alive at around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, according to police investigations. She was reportedly at home at the time, wearing a brown sleeveless shirt and blue-and-white shorts. Friends and family reported her missing to the Savanna-la-Mar Police when they were unable to contact her.
Authorities said the unsettling discovery occurred Saturday morning when residents near Gully Banks found a suitcase containing human remains. When detectives alerted the police, they quickly secured the area.
Detectives from the Westmoreland Police Division and the Scenes of Crime Unit are in charge of the investigation into Malcolm's death, which has been determined to be a murder.
Law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed the cause of death or identified any potential suspects. However, insiders claim that the manner in which Malcolm's body was found may have included foul play.
