Olin Edmond, Jr. Obituary, Reason for Death: Seneca Individual Reported Missing Discovered Deceased in Lake Hartwell, Family in Grief
The Seneca community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Douglas John Olin Edmond, Jr., 50, affectionately called “DJ” by his family and friends, who was found lifeless in Lake Hartwell on the afternoon of December 29, 2025.
Officials indicated that Mr. Edmond was located in a cove close to the Timberlake One neighborhood at around 36 feet deep by SC DNR divers. He was declared missing on Sunday, December 29, 2025, after last being spotted on December 20, 2025, when it is thought he was trying to navigate a cove in a small boat for deer hunting.
His unexpected death has created a significant absence for his family, friends, and the Seneca community. Douglas “DJ” Edmond, Jr. will be cherished for the affection, warmth, and generosity he expressed to those around him.
An autopsy will be carried out to aid in the ongoing inquiry. In the interim, the community offers deep sympathies and prayers to his family during this challenging period.
