According to officials, Erick informed his family at approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday that he planned to go for a ride. When he failed to come back, his relatives and law enforcement began a search for him on Monday morning. They were led to the accident site on the city's west side using the Find My Friends application.

Erick’s remains were found at 11:05 a.m. close to the intersection of Birmingport Road and Templeton Avenue, with the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office declaring him deceased at the scene at 11:15 a.m.

The Birmingham Police Department is currently probing into the details surrounding the accident, with the investigation still in progress. At this point, officials have not shared any further information regarding factors that may have contributed to the incident.
