Search Initiated for 19-Year-Old Elijah Jones Following Fatal Shooting in Philadelphia

 The Philadelphia Police Department is currently on the lookout for 19-year-old Elijah Jones concerning a fatal shooting that resulted in the death of 46-year-old Reginald Bates.


This event took place in the early hours of Tuesday, November 25, 2025, around 12:26 a.m. Officers from the 22nd District responded to calls about gunshots and a man armed with a weapon in the 2100 block of North 32nd Street. When they arrived at the scene, police discovered Bates with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. He was quickly rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was declared dead at 12:47 a.m.

Elijah Jones, a Black male residing in the 2100 block of North 32nd Street, is deemed to be armed and potentially dangerous. Eyewitnesses reported observing Jones escaping the location dressed entirely in black and wearing a camouflage mask. Law enforcement is advising the public not to attempt to confront him.

Individuals who have any leads concerning Jones' location are encouraged to reach out to the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit or call 911. Anonymous tips are welcomed.
