According to the Keokuk Police Department, officers responded to a call at 8:05 a.m. on January 31 regarding an unresponsive woman. Police arrived within a minute and discovered Clark on the sidewalk. Medical personnel were quickly dispatched, but despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted there were no visible indications of life‑threatening injuries.
