According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred just after 11 a.m. Wednesday along Highway 4 near the Twin Lakes area in Calhoun County. The charter bus carrying the Iowa Lakes baseball team, including players, coaches, and staff, veered off the roadway and rolled into a ditch. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene to find 33 occupants, all of whom sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical personnel, Carter Johnson could not be saved.
