Texas Community Mourns Kaley DeMasters and Student After Deadly Stop Sign Accident

 The Abilene community is mourning after a tragic crash on Highway 36 claimed the lives of 36-year-old Kaley Loren DeMasters of Abilene and an 11-year-old student from Eula ISD on Wednesday evening.

Authorities report the crash occurred near FM 603 around 7:30 p.m. DeMasters was pronounced dead at the scene, while the young student succumbed to injuries during transport to a nearby hospital.

The Texas Department of Public Safety stated that the accident happened when DeMasters allegedly disregarded a stop sign, leading to a collision with an 18-wheeler. The truck driver sustained only minor injuries.

Eula ISD released a statement expressing sorrow over the loss: “We are grieving the loss of a student in our district following a tragic car accident. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family, friends, classmates, and staff affected by this loss.”

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities continue to examine the circumstances that led to this devastating incident.
