PHILADELPHIA, PA — A tragic crash on Interstate 95 northbound claimed the life of Siena Marie Brachelli, a 19‑year‑old college student from Chesterfield, New Jersey, on Saturday morning.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Brachelli was driving her white Acura MDX around 11:36 a.m. near Exit 32, north of Academy Road, when she lost control of the vehicle. Investigators say the SUV veered from the left lane onto the shoulder, struck a guardrail, and overturned into the median. Emergency responders from the Philadelphia Fire Department and EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident. The cause of the loss of control remains undetermined, and police have appealed to the public for witnesses who may have seen the crash or have information that could assist the investigation.
Brachelli was a political science major at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where she was an active member of the Delta Psi chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She also worked as a service supervisor at Ordinarie Heros, a role that reflected her commitment to community service.
A 2024 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Brachelli is remembered as a bright and dedicated student with a promising future. She is survived by her parents and brothers, who along with her university community are mourning the sudden loss.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and officials continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
