Officers responded around 7:55 p.m. on February 4 to reports of multiple people shot in the 600 block of 60th Street. The 16‑year‑old victim, identified by his mother as Isiah Cooper, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 19‑year‑old male suffered a gunshot wound, while a 15‑year‑old male sustained a head injury; both were hospitalized.

Isiah’s mother, Tashea Cooper, spoke with TMJ4 News, expressing her grief and heartbreak. “They killed my baby,” she said, recalling her last conversation with him earlier that afternoon. She described her son as a “mama’s boy” who loved football, video games, and spending time close to her. “Every time I walk past his room, I don’t know…I feel like shocked,” she added.

During the investigation, police took a 16‑year‑old boy and a 19‑year‑old man into custody at a nearby home. Authorities said they are being held pending charges in what investigators described as an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.

All victims involved attend Kenosha schools. Isiah was a student at Bradford High School, while the other two victims attended Indian Trail High School. The school district announced that grief counseling services will be made available to students and staff affected by the tragedy.

Tashea Cooper has launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to help cover legal fees and pursue justice for her son. “My son was murdered! I want justice more than anything! I need help on legal fees to fight this to the furthest extent of the law,” the fundraiser reads. “This is more than just making a profit, this is making a point and standing on morals of this and following up through. I want to be able to fight the good fight.”

The shooting has left the Kenosha community shaken, with residents mourning the loss of a young life and calling for accountability. Police said the investigation remains ongoing, with additional information expected to be released as it becomes available.
