Woman, Man Found Dead Outside Pendleton County Home in Domestic Incident

 PENDLETON COUNTY, KY — Authorities are investigating the deaths of a 40‑year‑old woman and a 50‑year‑old man found outside a home on Hogg Ridge Road in what officials are describing as an apparent murder‑suicide.

According to the Pendleton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a welfare check call around 11 p.m. on February 1, 2026, for Camille McClanahan at a residence in the 1900 block of Hogg Ridge Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered McClanahan deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Nearby, they found James Hall dead from what investigators believe was a self‑inflicted gunshot wound.

At the request of the sheriff’s office, detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 6 in Dry Ridge took over the investigation. Authorities have described the incident as domestic‑related, though no motive or note has been released.

Emergency responders, including Pendleton County EMS and the county coroner, assisted at the scene. The roadway and surrounding area were secured as investigators worked to gather evidence and reconstruct the events leading up to the tragedy.
