St. Louis authorities have arrested someone in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Jardyn Walker.As the probe develops, the victim, together with suspect Jamaal Jones, 27, and witnesses participating in it, have been named.Early Wednesday morning in the 4200 block of Olive Street, Walker was discovered dead after being last seen the day before.
Authorities say Walker's phone was pinged to the region around 1 a.m. and police arrived.Walker was discovered shot in the torso when cops got on the scene.At the scene he was announced dead.Walker was reported missing Tuesday after he missed his sister's ride home at the Amazon Hazelwood plant, University City Police verified.His last appearance distributing packages in the University City region, the vehicle he was operating at that time was discovered at the spot.
Police think the occurrence might be connected to a previous shots-fired call in Central West End.After seeing a vehicle leaving the scene, officers stopped it close to Boyle and Lindell; they found weapons inside the car and arrested Jamaal Jones.Authorities said Jones had been accused of first-degree murder, armed criminal behavior, and evidence tampering on Wednesday afternoon.
