LOS ANGELES — The beauty and entertainment world is mourning the loss of Kim Vo, the celebrity hairstylist and colorist renowned for his work with Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Britney Spears, Goldie Hawn, Uma Thurman, and Pamela Anderson. Vo passed away after a long battle with colorectal cancer, his husband Adeel Khan confirmed Saturday.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Khan described an intimate and painful goodbye, writing that his beloved husband, best friend, and partner in life and business had “taken his final breath.” He revealed that Vo was diagnosed in 2018 and fought valiantly under the care of Dr. Lawrence Piro and his team at Angeles Clinic and Cedars‑Sinai, exceeding medical expectations for years before ultimately succumbing to the illness.
Hollywood tributes quickly poured in, with actress Tori Spelling commenting: “I’m so sorry, he was such an amazing human. Filled with such light and love.”
Vo’s final wish, shared by Khan, was for fans to donate to the Kim Vō Foundation in lieu of flowers. The foundation supports hair, beauty, and fashion creatives affected by cancer, reflecting Vo’s lifelong commitment to uplifting others in his industry.
Beyond his A‑list clientele, Vo was widely recognized from television. He served as a judge on Bravo’s Shear Genius, contributed behind the scenes on Extreme Makeover, and most recently starred on Paramount+’s Blowing LA. His charisma and artistry made him a household name, admired not only for his technical skill but also for his warmth and generosity.
