A tragic house fire on Christmas morning claimed the lives of two young sisters and left their mother critically injured in Kingsport, Tennessee. The blaze erupted in the 600 block of West Valley Drive, prompting an urgent response from local emergency services.
Sullivan County 911 received the first report around 6:15 a.m. Thursday, indicating that two individuals were trapped inside the residence. Deputies from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, along with firefighters from Sullivan West, Warriors Path, and Fall Branch, and Sullivan County EMS, rushed to the scene.
Tragically, 9-year-old Maggie Blevins and her 11-year-old sister Riley Blevins died in the fire. The family’s car was also destroyed in the fire.
In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign was launched seeking $120,000 to cover Nicole’s medical and ICU expenses, long-term burn care, and essential living needs when she is able to return home. As of Friday, donations have poured in, raising significant support for the family during this devastating time.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire, with no additional updates on its origin or contributing factors released. The Kingsport community has expressed shock and grief, rallying to support the surviving family members in the aftermath of the holiday tragedy.
