Austin Police Search for Suspect After Multiple Random Shootings Across South Austin Injure Several

 Fear and uncertainty continue spreading across Austin after police revealed that an active shooter — or possibly multiple shooters — is believed to be responsible for a series of random shootings that unfolded across the city throughout the weekend. Investigators say at least nine separate locations have now been connected to the attacks, leaving multiple people injured and an entire community on edge as authorities urgently search for those responsible.

According to Austin police, the shootings happened at different locations across the city, including two fire stations that were reportedly struck by gunfire. Police described one possible suspect as a White or Hispanic male believed to be in his late teens. Investigators also believe the suspect or suspects may be traveling in specific vehicles connected to the shootings. Authorities identified one vehicle as a white Kia Optima and another as a black or dark blue 2012 Hyundai Sonata with a broken passenger-side window.

Officials emphasized that the public should not attempt to approach anyone connected to the investigation. Instead, police are urging residents to remain vigilant, stay aware of their surroundings, and immediately contact 911 if they spot either vehicle or observe suspicious activity matching the descriptions released by investigators.
