Texas Tragedy: Hector Alonso Sanchez, Tanya Paola Valadez Rangel, Rosalba Saenz Rodriguez Among Dead in Seth Ward Shooting
The Plainview, Texas community is reeling from a devastating mass shooting that claimed five lives early Saturday morning in the Seth Ward neighborhood on Upchurch Street. Authorities confirmed that among the deceased were three family members—Hector Alonso Sanchez, 28; his wife, Tanya Paola Valadez Rangel, 30; and his mother, Rosalba Saenz Rodriguez, 47—along with a friend, 21-year-old Reily Joseph Zavala Barrientos, and the suspected shooter, 33-year-old Saul Villa, who also died at the scene.
The Hale County Sheriff’s Office reported that law enforcement, including Texas Rangers, responded around 3:40 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire at the rural residence. First responders pronounced four victims dead at the scene, while Barrientos was transported to Covenant Hospital–Plainview, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not released details regarding a motive, and the incident remains under active investigation.
