IRVING, TX — A 33‑year‑old man was killed in a road rage shooting Wednesday evening at a busy Irving intersection, and police have arrested a 62‑year‑old man on a murder charge.
According to Irving police, officers responded around 5:45 p.m. on February 4 to reports of a shooting at North Belt Line Road and Finley Road. When they arrived, they found Yoduardy Sanchez‑Naranjo inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately began life‑saving measures, and Sanchez‑Naranjo was transported to Parkland Hospital, where he died hours later, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigators quickly identified a suspect vehicle and later arrested Kenneth Nixon, 62, of Irving, around 9:30 p.m. Nixon has been charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police said the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident and emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Sanchez‑Naranjo, originally from Cuba, had previously lived in Dallas and Las Vegas, according to online records.
