The village is grieving the devastating loss of Jonah Ray McCay, who died Wednesday evening after being hit by a vehicle in Pinson.
The Center Point Fire District reports that the deadly accident took place on Cedar Street at Pinson Boulevard. Emergency responders verified McCay's fatal injuries from the accident and came on the scene. Though first efforts were made, he was pronounced dead at the site.
Leading the probe, officials from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office verified the driver stayed at the scene and is assisting detectives. As investigators keep working, Pinson Boulevard from Walnut Street to Main Street has to be closed.
