The Memphis neighborhood is grieving the tragic death of Jayden Wilson, 14, who was shot and murdered early Tuesday morning in Parkway Village.
The Memphis Police Department reports that officers arrived just before 2:45 a.m. to a shots fired call at a house on Simsbury Drive, east of Outland Road. The call was quickly turned to shooting, and officers discovered Jayden with gunshot wounds upon arrival. At the site, he was declared dead.
Grandmother identified Jayden, who verified his identity. Police have not yet provided any more information on the circumstances of the murder. No suspects or arrests have been declared; rather, the probe is ongoing and active.
The loss of such a youthful life has devastated the community as well as family members and friends. The suffering left behind by violence and the effect of it are painfully reminded by Jayden's death.
Jayden Wilson's family, friends, and all those impacted during this really trying period have our thoughts and prayers. May Jayden be remembered for his life, his youth, and the love he brought to those who knew him.
