Five Injured in Columbia County ATV Crash on Sand Pit Road

 HARLEM, GA — A serious ATV accident in Columbia County left five people injured Wednesday night after a side‑by‑side vehicle overturned multiple times. The crash occurred at 6:46 p.m. on Sand Pit Road at Leitner Mill Road, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say the ATV, driven by 64‑year‑old Kenneth Coleman of Harlem, failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the roadway. The vehicle rolled several times, ejecting multiple passengers. Coleman, who owned and operated the ATV, was among those injured. His passenger, 34‑year‑old Kenneth Coleman of Evans, was also hurt. Others involved included Austin Rockefeller, 27, of Harlem, seated behind the driver; Timothy Coleman, 39, of Harlem, seated in the middle back seat; and Brandon Arnold, 36, seated on the back right.

Emergency crews transported all five individuals to local hospitals, where they were treated for a range of injuries. Authorities reported that some victims are in stable condition, while others sustained more serious injuries requiring further care.

The accident has drawn concern throughout the Harlem community, with residents asking for prayers and support for those injured. Deputies confirmed that the incident remains under investigation as they work to determine the factors that led to the crash.
