Community Shock – Briggs Pullin Remembered After Sudden Death in Pittsylvania Crash

Following a terrible side-by-side collision on Sunday evening that claimed the life of seven-year-old Briggs Pullin, Pittsylvania County now carries a deep sense of grief. Heartbreakingly shortened a young life full of innocence, laughter, and promise, a family and community now mourning an unsurmountable loss.

Briggs Pullin Death in Pittsylvania Crash

Virginia State Police say the crash took place around 5:15 p.m. on January 25 along Moorefield Bridge Road, some two-tenths of a mile south of Red Bud Lane. According to authorities, the driver lost control of a 2024 Can-Am Defender side-by-side as it was headed south, causing the car to overturn. Partially flung during the collision, Briggs was a passenger.

The driver, Danville's 35-year-old Corey Michael Pullin, was hurt and taken to the hospital for therapy. Emergency medical services rushed Briggs to the hospital, where, despite all attempts by the medical team, he later passed away from his wounds. State police claim alcohol is thought to be a contributing element, and accusations are pending as the inquiry goes on.

Beyond the crash's specifics is the far more sorrowful reality: a child has passed much too early. Briggs Pullin stood for all that was innocent and hopeful about youth at only seven years old. He was a son, a family member, and a bright young spirit whose laughter and inquisitiveness made those around him happy. His days should have included school trips, scraped knees, grand ideas, and many moments still waiting to develop.

People who knew Briggs recall a lovely, bright youngster with a loving heart and an undeniable light. His loved ones would always recall his smile, voice, and presence. Though he was short-lived, the love he gave and got was great—and that love will never go.

This awful event reminds us of how fragile life really is and of how choices taken in a split second can forever alter the lives of others. A community stops to grieve a child deserving so much more time as the inquiry goes on.
