Accused Killer Henry Resuera Jr. Surfaces Online, Seeks Journalist Contact Amid Kimberly Hyde Murder Case

It’s not every day that an accused killer who fled the country shows up in a Facebook inbox. But on December 12, 2025, that’s exactly what happened when Henry Cito Piano Resuera Jr., wanted by the FBI in connection with the 2024 homicide of Kimberly Hyde, privately messaged me asking for help.

Accused Killer Henry Resuera Jr. Surfaces

Resuera’s profile name was generic, so before engaging further, I asked him to send a selfie to confirm his identity. He did. His request was unusual: he wanted assistance contacting Idaho journalist Nate Eaton, known for covering high‑profile crime stories.

I reached out to Eaton by email but never received a response. Around the same time, Eaton independently became aware that Resuera was attempting to contact him. The two ultimately connected, and Eaton has since released his interview with Resuera. Screenshots of my own conversation with Resuera are included below for transparency.

📍 Backstory: The Murder of Kimberly Hyde

  • Victim: Kimberly Hyde, 60, of Roosevelt, Utah.

  • Reported Missing: October 7, 2024, after failing to return home.

  • Discovery: Her car was found the next day in Vernal, 38 miles away. Hyde was deceased inside the vehicle.

Court documents reveal investigators pieced together Hyde’s final hours using surveillance footage, school bus cameras, and license plate readers. Hyde was seen returning home around 2:30 p.m. on October 7. Minutes earlier, Resuera was captured leaving his own home and heading toward hers. Detectives believe he may have been inside when she arrived.

A friend left Hyde’s house at 2:47 p.m. Shortly afterward, a text message from Hyde’s phone claimed she needed to return to Vernal. Surveillance later showed Hyde’s vehicle traveling toward Vernal, driven by someone described as small in stature and wearing a hat.

When Hyde’s car was located, investigators believed they could see a body concealed beneath items inside. A warrant was obtained, and Hyde’s death was confirmed.

⚠️ Medical Examiner’s Findings

Hyde suffered blunt force trauma to the head and face, multiple superficial stab wounds, and fatal injuries to her neck.

Court records state Resuera later confessed to his wife and son, describing details not publicly released — including how Hyde was restrained and the nature of her injuries. Family members told investigators they feared him due to prior unreported domestic violence.

After media coverage began surrounding Hyde’s death, Resuera purchased a plane ticket and fled to the Philippines. A warrant was issued charging him with:

  • Aggravated homicide

  • Kidnapping

  • Robbery

  • Burglary

All charges are first‑degree felonies. Authorities say they are working with the FBI and international agencies to return him to the U.S. to face trial.

💔 Remembering Kimberly Hyde

Hyde was a social worker, a Utah State University graduate, and a respected member of her community. Family and friends described her disappearance as completely out of character.

🔎 Clarification

Law enforcement has never implicated Hyde’s husband in her death. Any statements made by Resuera in private messages are his own words. I am not vouching for their accuracy, truthfulness, or intent — only sharing them in the interest of transparency and public awareness.

This investigation remains ongoing.
