 The Grand Island community is grieving the heartbreaking and unexpected passing of Juan Gomez Jr., aged 18, who was shot and killed on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in Leesburg, Florida.


As reported by the Leesburg Police Department, officers on patrol were dispatched around 12:56 p.m. on December 14 to Berry Park, situated at 2121 Johns Avenue, after receiving information about a potential shooting victim found in a vehicle. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered Gomez inside the car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders from Leesburg Fire-Rescue and medical teams arrived at the location, but despite attempts to save his life, Juan Gomez Jr. was declared dead at Berry Park.
