Alie Katt Beaumont, Texas Vehicle Collision: Employee at Goodyear, Alie Katt Loses Life in Devastating accident on Interstate 10 to the west of Beaumont

 A heartbreaking crash in the early hours on Monday along Interstate 10, situated west of Beaumont, resulted in the fatalities of two individuals and caused extensive delays for eastbound vehicles for several hours. The accident took place at approximately 5:20 a.m. near the 841-mile marker close to Boyt Road, adjacent to the Goodyear facility, as reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The forceful impact led to the deaths of a 34-year-old man from Beaumont and his passenger, who has been identified as Alie Katt.

As per authorities, the two were heading east in a 2015 Dodge Charger when the driver attempted to switch lanes but did not execute the maneuver safely. The car collided with a water-filled barrier before proceeding forward and crashing into a concrete barrier with a considerable impact. Both victims were declared dead at the site by Justin Chesson, the Justice of the Peace for Jefferson County Precinct Four. The name of the male victim is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The incident created an immediate and significant disruption to morning traffic. All eastbound lanes on Interstate 10 were closed for several hours while crews conducted an investigation and cleared debris from the area. This led to traffic backups stretching for miles beyond Fannett and Highway 365, resulting in numerous commuters facing lengthy delays during the peak travel time. Authorities advised motorists to seek alternative routes until the highway could be reopened safely.

Sgt. Shana Clark, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety, confirmed that both occupants of the Charger lost their lives due to the collision. She mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing as troopers work to collect additional information and examine physical evidence from the location. The crash occurred during the early hours when visibility tends to be poor, and the Department of Public Safety will investigate all possible contributing factors as part of their continued analysis.
