CLEVELAND, TN — Cleveland Police officers arrested an individual following a shooting incident that took place late on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Around 10:53 p.m., law enforcement responded to a call about gunshots at 920 25th Street NW. Upon their arrival, they discovered a white male victim, later recognized as David “Brody” Bishop, lying in the parking area with a gunshot wound to his chest. The officers promptly provided assistance until emergency medical service personnel arrived to take Bishop to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Eyewitnesses present at the location offered descriptions of both the assailant and the vehicle he was driving. Reports indicated that a white male, operating a maroon Lexus with large chrome wheels, drove into the parking lot, briefly interacted with a group of individuals, then displayed a handgun, fired a shot into the air, and subsequently shot Bishop at close range.
Witnesses were able to identify the suspect as Cameron Cox. Shortly after, police found Cox in his car on the on-ramp of APD 40 at 20th Street and arrested him without any problems. After interviews by the Cleveland Police investigators, Cox faced charges of Attempted Second-Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and Reckless Endangerment.
Cox was taken to the Bradley County Justice Center for the booking process.
The Cleveland Police Department has stated that this case is still under active investigation and encourages anyone with more information to step forward and assist law enforcement with their ongoing inquiries.
