 Jamison Lee Ross Gibson, aged 37, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, leaving a remarkable legacy characterized by immense commitment, limitless kindness, and a profound affection for his family and community.

Hailing from Buncombe County, Jamison was the cherished son of Lee and Sherry Redmond Gibson. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, LW Gibson, who played a significant role in instilling the strong work ethic and determination that defined Jamison throughout his life.

Jamison was widely recognized throughout Western North Carolina and even beyond as the President of American Big Rig Racing, where he not only guided the organization but also shone as one of its standout talents.

Driving the #20 Freightliner, he was affectionately known as “DK,” which stood for Drift King—an epithet capturing both his exceptional driving prowess and his fearless enthusiasm for the sport.

His visionary leadership and capacity to engage with fellow competitors and supporters earned him respect within the racing community. Jamison faced each race with fervor and approached every obstacle with resolve, motivating those around him.

Beyond the realm of racing, Jamison embodied the essence of being present for others. Whether it involved assisting a neighbor, offering support to a friend, or helping someone in distress, he consistently showcased what it means to live with selflessness.

He devoted himself wholeheartedly to his family, his career, his beliefs, and the enterprises he built with intention and pride. Alongside his wife, Loren Ramsey Gibson, Jamison co-managed three successful businesses: A 1st Choice Well Service, Appalachian Dumpster & Demo, and Appalachian Well Drilling.

These ventures represented more than mere financial gain; they were the culmination of the shared vision, perseverance, and numerous hours of hard work between Jamison and Loren.

Their collaboration illustrated their profound love and dedication to one another, and Jamison took immense pride in generating opportunities not only for his own family but also for those he hired and served.

A man of deep faith, Jamison was fully devoted to his Lord and was an active member of Leicester Baptist Church. His relationship with God was fundamental to his life, steering his choices, actions, and the compassion he showed to everyone he encountered.

While his loved ones grieve his loss on Earth, they find solace in the belief that he is now in a state of peace and joy in Heaven.

Jamison is survived by many who adored him, including his devoted wife, Loren; his son and closest companion, Jayce Gibson; his sister, Jillian Gibson Hawkins, her spouse Kent, and their children, Easton and Emma.

He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Franklin and Glenda Redmond, along with his paternal grandmother, Gloria Gibson. Each of them keeps the memory of his love alive.
