Local officials indicated that Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood was put under lockdown on Thursday afternoon due to sightings of a suspicious person either on the hospital premises or in the vicinity.
According to the Hollywood Police Department, officers responded to the hospital after reports of an individual behaving unusually inside or near one of its buildings. Acting with extreme caution, the administration of the hospital decided to enforce a lockdown, restricting both entry and exit while law enforcement carried out their investigation.
During the police search of the medical center, security personnel were strategically placed throughout the facility, and staff members as well as visitors were instructed to stay indoors.
