Cause of Death and Obituary for Jeff Rogers of Boston, Massachusetts: We are sorry to notify you of the passing of Jeff Rogers, a dedicated teammate, personal friend, and fellow Boston While Black (BWB) member.
If you have ever attended a Boston While Black event, you have most likely met Jeff, who goes by the affectionate handle @professorjgrey. Whether you saw Jeff take the stage at our How to BWB Summit, host @hellablacktrivia with gusto during our Family Reunion, or joke around with him at a member event, he consistently provided his trademark warmth, humor, and wisdom. His presence could not be ignored.
Jeff was much more than a host, though. He was a gifted storyteller and a dedicated cultural steward. He created sacred spaces through his art where our culture was honored, our history was recalled, and our solidarity was highlighted. He had a deep awareness of our identity and the power that comes from coming together.
In addition to his role at BWB, Jeff was a beloved friend to many, including our Founder and CEO, @sheena_collier, who, like the rest of the BWB community, is grieving this significant loss. Because of the pride he instilled, the joy he provided, and the laughter he inspired, Jeff's legacy will endure in our stories even if his passing has left an indefinable void.
May you rest in peace, Jeff. Your spirit will live on in our hearts and be a part of the BWB story forever.
