In the Piedmont ATV Park crash, two adults were killed and seven children were injured.

 PIEDMONT, AL Authorities revealed that two adults lost their lives and seven children were injured in a sad accident that occurred at Indian Mountain ATV Park on Saturday, August 30. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the remote location just before 4 p.m., and they arrived about eighteen minutes later.


A side-by-side RZR carrying nine people collided with another RZR, toppled, and struck a tree, according to Shawn Rogers, the director of Cherokee County Emergency Management. After being ejected, the driver passed away on the spot. Four more children were taken by Piedmont EMS and Atrium-Floyd EMS to Atrium-Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, while a woman and three children were transferred to trauma hospitals in Birmingham via medical helicopters. Later, the woman passed away from her wounds.


The adult victims were identified by authorities as Ashley Hawkins and Marcus Ragland, both of whom were from Rome, Georgia. The seven children involved were between the ages of one and twelve; their present circumstances have not been fully disclosed.


Sheriff Jeff Shaver stressed the significance of operating recreational vehicles safely and responsibly, while Cherokee County Coroner Paul McDonald highlighted the scene's complexity, especially considering the presence of youngsters.


Spring Garden Fire, Floyd EMS, Piedmont Rescue, Cherokee County EMA, 911 dispatchers, and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department were among the several organizations who responded. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
