Elmer "Frank" Adams, Fairfield, Ohio Obituary and cause of death: Elmer Franklin "Frank" Adams, 65, of Fairfield, Ohio, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Frank, a lifetime Fairfield resident, was born May 3, 1960, to the late Elmer Robinson Adams and Pauline (Mullins) Adams. He leaves a legacy of love, faith, creativity, and commitment to his family and community.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Holstein) Adams, with whom he spent many happy years of marriage. He was a proud and dedicated father to Nicholas Franklin Adams and Ashley Ann Adams, as well as a cherished grandfather to Spencer Adams, who gave him much delight. He is also survived by his brother Paul Brian Adams (Samantha), sister-in-law Marietta (Dave) Southwood, and brothers-in-law Andrew (Paula) Holstein and Ralph Holstein, as well as other cherished nieces and nephews who will miss his generosity, humor, and knowledge.
Frank, a guy of many abilities, worked for Crown Plastics, but his professional trajectory was far more than just that title. He was a skilled engineer who specialized in both electronics and mechanical design, which he learned through school and practical experience. Frank excelled academically at Cincinnati State, the University of Cincinnati, and Wilmington College, finishing in the top percentile of his class. His brilliant intelligence, curiosity, and commitment to his job earned him the respect and admiration of coworkers and friends.
But to know Frank Adams was to understand his music. Frank's passion for music defined his life, and he was rarely seen without his guitar in hand. Whether leading worship at church or singing with local bands, his music moved many people. He played both bass and lead guitar and was a key part of the Willow Creek Band for nearly a decade. He recently performed with Southland and Mad River Road, making memorable moments with his cherished comrades Susan, Kevin C, and Kevin K. His music was a gift to those who heard it, a mirror of his spirit.
Frank discovered joy and calm in the wide outdoors. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, and riding his motorcycle, taking frequent breaks to reconnect with nature and the basic pleasures of life. His adventurous attitude, along with his deep faith and love for others, made him a beacon of light and strength for those around him.
Frank's death is a devastating loss, but his life was a shining example of integrity, generosity, and joy. He was a loving spouse, a proud father and grandfather, a dedicated brother, and a dependable friend. His music, laughter, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of those he knew.
