Allison Lowery Car Accident: Twelve-Year-Old Allison Lowery Perished in a Bike and Semitruck Collisions in Newburgh
In a horrific incident, Allison Lowery, 12, of Newburgh, was struck and killed by a semitruck while she was pedaling her bicycle across the street.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Sharon Road and State Route 66, according to the Warrick County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Mike Wilder claims that the semitruck driver had a green light and attempted to brake before to the collision but was unable to do so in time, based on evidence discovered at the scene.
Allison was a bright, kind young woman whose life was tragically taken too soon. She went to a middle school in the area. In addition to Allison's family, Sheriff Wilder emphasized the accident's devastating impact on first responders, bystanders, and the community at large. He urged people to refrain from sharing accident photos on social media to show empathy for the families who might be harmed by hearing of such news in this way.
Authorities say no criminal charges are expected in connection with the tragedy. Since then, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the Lowery family, who are grieving at Allison's sudden passing. The Warrick County School Corporation will have a crisis response team on hand to assist mourning staff and kids.
