The affidavit describes significant injuries to her face and head, bruising across parts of her body; her clothing appeared damaged and bloodstained, and officers also reportedly found substantial blood and blood spatter inside the apartment. The children were removed from the residence while police secured the scene and preserved evidence.

Jake was initially arrested on suspicion of abuse of a corpse without legal authority, but detectives continued building the case after the discovery. The following day, authorities obtained a warrant charging him with murder in Eliana’s death. Jake remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
