A family's ordinary Tuesday afternoon has turned into an agonizing search after 19-year-old Julius Thomas disappeared from his Augusta, Georgia, home without telling anyone where he was going. Hours after leaving, brief debit card transactions provided the only clues to his movements before he seemingly vanished, leaving loved ones desperately hoping someone recognizes him and helps bring him home safely.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, Julius was last seen at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday leaving his residence in the 4100 block of Pinnacle Way. Before walking away, his mother asked him to hand over all of his electronics, including his cell phone, and he complied. Without a phone or other electronic devices, Julius left the home and did not tell anyone where he intended to go.
Concern quickly grew when family members realized they had no way to contact him. After reviewing his financial activity, they discovered that his debit card had been used at approximately 3:30 p.m. at Jamaican Way, located at 2650 Tobacco Road. About an hour later, another transaction occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the McDonald's located at 2508 Tobacco Road, providing investigators with the last confirmed record of his whereabouts.
When Julius' father learned about the McDonald's transaction, he immediately rushed to the restaurant hoping to find his son. By the time he arrived, however, Julius was already gone. Since that final purchase, there have been no additional debit card transactions, and his family has not heard from him, deepening concerns about his safety and well-being.
Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded by searching areas along Tobacco Road and Windsor Spring Road, where Julius was believed to have been traveling. Despite those efforts, investigators were unable to locate him. Authorities continue working to determine where he went after leaving the McDonald's and whether anyone may have seen him during the hours following his disappearance.
Julius is described as 19 years old, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 195 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt, black shorts, and black shoes. Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen someone matching that description Tuesday afternoon or afterward to come forward, even if the information seems minor or insignificant.
Missing person investigations often rely on seemingly small observations that later become important pieces of the timeline. A sighting, surveillance footage, or a brief interaction could help investigators determine Julius' direction of travel or identify where he may have gone after his final confirmed purchase. Authorities continue urging the public to remain alert and report any potentially relevant information without delay.
As each passing day brings renewed uncertainty, Julius Thomas' family continues hoping for the phone call that will finally answer their questions. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1080. His loved ones remain focused on one goal above all else: bringing Julius home safely.
