 A disturbing series of events in London, Kentucky, has led to multiple felony charges after authorities say a 91-year-old man was left inside a disabled vehicle during extreme summer heat. Investigators allege the elderly man was stranded after refusing to buy cigarettes for a woman who had been traveling with him. According to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded Thursday after receiving a 911 call reporting that an elderly man had been left alone inside a vehicle parked along the roadside. When deputies arrived, they found the 91-year-old still inside the vehicle. Authorities identified the woman as 37-year-old Nikki Reed Hoskins. According to investigators, the elderly man told deputies that Hoskins became angry after he declined to purchase cigarettes for her. Deputies allege she then walked away from the vehicle and returned to a nearby residence, leaving him behind.
