Parker, who is currently on death row after being convicted of capital murder in 2022, was found guilty in connection with the death of 21-year-old Reagan Simmons-Hancock, a case that drew widespread national attention due to its severity and circumstances.

In recorded conversations from 2021 to 2022, Parker allegedly spoke with her mother about her conditions in custody, court restrictions, and frustration over limited contact with her children. She also claimed she felt unfairly treated by authorities because of the nature of her case.
