In northern Dearborn County, Indiana, a devastating early morning crash has left two young women from Cincinnati dead and two others seriously injured after a head-on collision on U.S. 52 near State Road 46, an incident that unfolded around 3:30 a.m. Sunday and has since prompted a detailed investigation by state authorities.

Kimora Manuel and Le’Marea Holmes Dies

According to the Indiana State Police, the crash involved a 2020 Honda Civic traveling westbound on U.S. Route 52. Investigators say the vehicle attempted to pass another car in a marked no-passing zone and remained in the oncoming lane of traffic, setting the stage for a catastrophic impact on the rural highway.

While still in the opposite lane, the Honda Civic collided head-on with an eastbound Volvo semi-truck pulling a box trailer. The force of the impact caused the semi-truck to come to a stop in the roadway, while the smaller vehicle left the highway and came to rest down an embankment, highlighting the severity of the collision.

Authorities confirmed that 21-year-old Kimora Manuel and 22-year-old Le’Marea Holmes, both from Cincinnati, were pronounced dead at the scene due to the extent of their injuries. Their sudden deaths have left families and friends grieving the loss of two young lives taken in an instant on a quiet early morning roadway.

The driver of the Honda Civic, 23-year-old Kelis Manuel of Fairfield, Ohio, along with another rear-seat passenger, sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported to Cincinnati-area hospitals for emergency medical treatment. Officials have not released updated conditions on their recovery.

The driver of the semi-truck involved in the crash suffered minor injuries. Investigators noted that despite the violent impact, the truck remained on the roadway after the collision, and emergency crews worked quickly to secure the scene and assist those involved.

State police reported that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash, though toxicology results are still pending as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities also noted that heavy rainfall at the time is being examined as a possible environmental factor that may have affected road conditions and visibility.

The Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, reviewing physical evidence, roadway markings, and vehicle positions in an effort to determine the full sequence of events. As the investigation continues, families of the victims are left mourning an unimaginable loss, remembering Kimora Manuel and Le’Marea Holmes as young women whose lives ended far too soon in a tragic moment that has deeply impacted both Cincinnati and the surrounding communities.
