Jacques Whitt Remembered Following Deadly Highway 53 Collision Involving Madison County Deputy Vehicle

 In Madison County, Alabama, authorities are investigating a tragic overnight crash that claimed the life of 27-year-old Jacques L. Whitt of Madison after the vehicle in which she was riding collided with a Madison County Sheriff’s Office patrol SUV. The incident occurred during the early morning hours and has left family members, friends, and the local community mourning the sudden loss of a young woman whose life ended in a devastating roadway collision.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash happened at approximately 12:27 a.m. on June 13, 2026, along Alabama Highway 53 near mile marker 323, several miles northwest of Huntsville. Investigators reported that a Madison County Sheriff’s deputy was actively responding to a service call at the time and was operating a patrol vehicle with emergency lights and siren activated when the collision occurred.

Authorities said Jacques Whitt was riding as a passenger in a Kia Optima that became involved in the crash with the deputy’s 2022 Ford Explorer patrol vehicle. Preliminary information indicates that the impact was severe, resulting in significant damage and multiple injuries among those involved. Emergency personnel responded quickly and began providing medical assistance at the scene.

Investigators reported that Whitt was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. As a result of the impact, she was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the Kia was identified as 30-year-old Mardasha D. Woods of Huntsville. Troopers stated that Woods was also not wearing a seat belt and was ejected during the collision. She sustained injuries and was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. A second passenger, 31-year-old Hailey N. Tibbs of Huntsville, was also injured and taken to the hospital for medical care.

Authorities confirmed that the Madison County Sheriff’s deputy operating the patrol SUV suffered injuries in the crash. An intern who was riding in the patrol vehicle at the time was also injured. Both were transported to Huntsville Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Officials have not publicly released the identity of the deputy involved in the incident.
