Shane Mozingo Dies After High-Speed Motorcycle Crash Leads to Chain Reaction Collision in Sanger Area

 In Denton County, Texas, authorities are investigating a tragic three-vehicle crash that claimed the life of 34-year-old motorcyclist Shane Mozingo of Sanger, following a high-speed sequence of events on FM 455 near Hub Clark Road that unfolded late Friday morning and left multiple drivers involved in a complex collision still under review by investigators.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. on May 23, 2026, when Mozingo was traveling eastbound on FM 455. Preliminary findings indicate the motorcycle was moving at a high rate of speed as it approached another eastbound vehicle, setting the stage for a sudden and dangerous situation on the rural roadway.

Investigators said the motorcyclist attempted to brake to avoid a collision but lost control and laid the motorcycle down on the roadway. After sliding across the pavement, the motorcycle entered the westbound lane and struck a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction, creating a secondary impact that further escalated the severity of the crash.

Authorities reported that after striking the pickup truck, the motorcycle was redirected back into the eastbound lane, where it collided with the original eastbound vehicle. The multi-impact sequence involved three separate vehicles and unfolded within seconds, according to the preliminary crash reconstruction by DPS troopers at the scene.

Officials confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash, while the driver of the eastbound vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Both drivers are cooperating with investigators as the case remains under active review.

Shane Mozingo sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders who arrived shortly after the crash was reported.
