Saniyah Mallett Arrested After 8-Year-Old Killed in Little Rock Hit-and-Run Crash Near Windsor Drive

 Authorities in Little Rock, Arkansas are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that left an 8-year-old child dead and led to the arrest of a 19-year-old suspect, according to the Little Rock Police Department.

The collision happened Thursday night around 8:30 p.m. near Windsor Drive, where officers were called to the scene after reports of a traffic accident involving a juvenile pedestrian, prompting an immediate emergency response from first responders and local law enforcement.

Police said the young victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition following the crash, but despite medical efforts, the child later died from their injuries on Friday morning, marking a tragic outcome that intensified the investigation.

Following the incident, detectives began working to identify the driver involved and said they were able to locate a possible suspect through investigative leads gathered at the scene and during follow-up inquiries in the surrounding area.

Authorities identified the driver as 19-year-old Saniyah Mallett, who was later taken into custody in connection with the fatal crash after investigators determined she was allegedly operating the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run incident.

Police confirmed that Mallett has been charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and she is currently being processed through the legal system as the case moves forward in court.
