Kailee’s story is one of quiet strength under unimaginable pressure, a young mother of two boys whose life has been defined in recent years not by normal routines, but by hospital rooms, critical diagnoses, and a daily fight to stay alive long enough to be with her children.

Kailee, 26, Undergoes Urgent Surgery

At just 26 years old in 2021, Kailee was diagnosed with end-stage heart failure, a life-threatening condition that required doctors to implant a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) to keep her heart functioning. While the device gave her a second chance at life, it also marked the beginning of a long and difficult medical journey filled with complications and uncertainty.

Soon after the LVAD procedure, Kailee developed a serious infection linked to the device, leading to repeated hospital admissions and ongoing intravenous antibiotic treatments. What was meant to stabilize her condition instead became another source of medical struggle, as her health continued to decline despite aggressive care and monitoring.

More recently, doctors discovered a pseudoaneurysm in her mesenteric artery, a critical blood vessel that supplies the intestines. Medical specialists have described the condition as highly dangerous, with a risk of rupture that could become life-threatening without warning, placing her in an extremely fragile state.

Kailee is now preparing for high-risk surgery in an effort to repair the artery. While the procedure offers a potential chance at stabilization, doctors have also warned the family about the significant dangers involved. In the best-case scenario, she may later qualify for an LVAD exchange surgery, but that operation also carries serious risks given her current condition.

Medical teams have been honest with the family that Kailee’s prognosis remains extremely limited, with expectations that her life expectancy may be measured in months regardless of treatment outcomes. Despite this, she continues to receive care while remaining hospitalized, with doctors closely monitoring her condition as they prepare for surgery.

Throughout this ongoing medical crisis, Kailee’s role as a mother remains central to her story. Her two sons, ages five and seven, are too young to fully understand the severity of what their mother is facing, and her oldest child, who is autistic and nonverbal, is especially affected by her prolonged absence and illness.

Family members have started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the mounting financial burden of her care, including travel costs for family visits, daily living expenses, lodging, food, and basic support needs during her extended hospitalization. The goal is to ensure that Kailee’s children and loved ones can remain close to her during this critical time.

As her family continues to navigate both emotional and financial strain, they are asking for public support in the form of prayers, encouragement, and any assistance available. Through all the uncertainty, they say they are holding onto hope and focusing on being present for Kailee as she continues to fight through one of the most difficult chapters of her life.
