Peterborough Shooting Reported on George Street, Emergency Response Underway

 Authorities in Peterborough are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Friday afternoon on George Street, prompting a large-scale emergency response and temporary road closures. Emergency services, including the Peterborough Police Service and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene around 3:45 p.m. after reports of gunfire at a residence south of Parkhill Road.

Upon arrival, officers established a perimeter around the home while paramedics treated at least one individual on-site. The injured person was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for further care, accompanied by a police officer. Witnesses reported seeing multiple officers, some armed with rifles, securing the area, with tactical paramedics staged nearby as a precaution.

During the response, Parkhill Road was temporarily closed between Water Street and just west of George Street to allow investigators to secure the scene.
