Bridgewater Community Mourns Ryan Amaral, 32, After Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Montgomery Township

The Bridgewater community is mourning the tragic loss of Ryan J. Amaral, 32, who passed away after a motorcycle crash in Montgomery Township on March 20, 2026. Amaral, a devoted husband and father, was critically injured when his 1998 Harley Davidson 1200 collided with a 2017 Toyota Tacoma driven by 57-year-old Fernando L. Alves of Newark.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:22 p.m. on East Mountain Road. Emergency responders from Montgomery EMS and Robert Wood Johnson paramedics provided care at the scene before Amaral was airlifted by NorthSTAR helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries several days later. Alves was unharmed in the incident.
A Rowan University graduate, Amaral was the founder of Renatus Energy, a company dedicated to solar energy development. He is remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to sustainable energy, and the kindness he shared with family, friends, and the community.
Amaral leaves behind his wife, Diana, and two young children, 22-month-old Valentina and three-week-old Matteo. An online fundraiser supporting the family has already raised over $80,000, reflecting the outpouring of love and support from the community.
