RICHMOND COUNTY, GA — Authorities have confirmed that Mr. Eugene Walker, a 71‑year‑old man who had been reported missing from the 400 block of Boy Scout Road, has been safely located.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO), the coordinated efforts of the INTEL Division and the Real Time Crime Center played a crucial role in finding Mr. Walker. Deputies conducted extensive research into his past known addresses and deployed units to check multiple locations. Their persistence led to Mr. Walker being located safely. Deputies are currently ensuring he is in good condition and assisting with his return to his residence.
Mr. Walker was initially reported missing after he was last seen around 6:45 p.m. on January 29, when he stepped outside to take out the trash and did not return inside. Family members noted that he suffers from memory disruptions, which heightened concern for his safety.
At the time of his disappearance, Mr. Walker was described as wearing a green jacket, green and brown pants, and a plaid shirt. The Sheriff’s Office launched a large‑scale search effort, deploying Road Patrol, Crime Suppression Team, Drone Team units, and K9 units to canvass the area.
The Sheriff’s Office had urged residents to remain alert and share any information that could help locate Mr. Walker. Thanks to the coordinated response, he has now been found safely, bringing relief to his family and the community.
