The Salisbury, North Carolina community is mourning the tragic loss of 17-year-old Victoria Overcash, who was killed in a head-on collision Thursday morning on Brown Road near China Grove.

According to Master Trooper Whit Efird of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, preliminary findings indicate that Overcash’s vehicle crossed the center line while traveling south and collided with a northbound garbage truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victoria, a senior at J.C. Carson High School, was remembered by friends, classmates, and teachers as a bright and promising young woman. Her passing has left family, peers, and the broader community in shock. Rowan-Salisbury Schools confirmed that additional counselors were made available to support students and staff coping with the sudden loss.
