The Macon community is mourning the tragic loss of 36-year-old Teairka Brown, who was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 7:24 p.m. in the 1400 block of Pio Nono Avenue, near Montpelier Avenue and Pio Nono, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responding to the scene found Brown unresponsive after she had been struck while attempting to cross the roadway. Emergency personnel performed lifesaving measures, but tragically, she was pronounced deceased at the scene by coroner Lonnie Miley. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
